For some time I have been considering the purchase of my first tractor. I have 10 acres, mostly southern pine, with about 2 acres cleared. Even on this amount of cleared land, I can't keep up with the vegatation. If I pay some one to clear it, it wouldn't be to my standards and I will have to repeat the process every few years. I have been looking around and found what appears to be the perfect tractor for me - a Kubota B21. Price for the unit is 25K US(new) and 29K with a few additional attachments (bush hog, rake, post hole digger). Any thoughts???

Speedy, I don't see a B21 is that last years model? I see a b24. That seems like alot of $$$ for a tractor of that size and hp. Are you paying for cruise controll, tilt wheel hst trans etc. If so, you should look at what you are going to do with it and what might come up in the future. If you are using most anything but the front loader a standard trans is fine, tilt wheel??? Cruise conroll??? If it where me I would be looking at the L series the L3400 or L4300, more horse, bigger impements, higher more powerful lift front and rear. You can get a L4300 with 45 hp 4wd std shift with loader for around 19,000. and the 3400 for alot less. Maybe last years L3000 32 hp at a real dicount. Either will twitch logs with a Farmi or Fransgard, run a decent self feed chipper, run a nice size rear bush hog. Southern pine aren't light, they will need to be lifted and hauled, maybe loaded with forks. That is where the 3 pth lift comes in and the height the loader will lift. ....
